Here it is!! This is something I had no idea of before I used the InPen, so for those newly diagnosed or those who are wondering about smart pens... here’s how I refill my pen💉 It’s crazy that the liquid inside this glass vile is what keeps me alive, but it can also take it away. That’s why I’m so glad that I can now see the amount of insulin in my system through the InPen app. We can see our glucose using CGM’s and blood calliper readings, but it’s important to see our insulin too! I couldn’t monitor my insulin intake using disposable pens, or if I could I’d have to jot it down myself - which is so much extra work for me and to be quite honest I got burnt out with that in the first few months of being diagnosed. Conheça o Simplera, o novo sensor contínuo de glicose da Medtronic! Ele chegará em duas versões: uma para ser usada com canetas, incluindo a caneta inteligente da Medtronic (a InPen - tem post no feed pra quem não conhece), e outra para se conectar à bomba 780G (Simplera Sync), substituindo o Guardian 3 e 4 (hoje no Brasil usamos o Guardian 3). A maior evolução em relação às versões anteriores da Medtronic é ser 2 em 1: sensor e transmissor em um dispositivo único, mais flat, mais clean, mais discreto e super charmoso com essa formato quadradinho. Além disso, não precisa usar nenhum adesivo por cima (o guardian 3 é um pequeno trambolho, impossível deixar sem proteção 😂🐢). Outra grande vantagem é não precisar de calibrações (o Guardian 3 exige no mínimo 2 calibrações diárias) — apesar de você poder calibrar, caso queira. Não precisa escanear, nem pra ativar o sensor. Permite a personalização de alarmes. Dura 7 dias, assim como o atual da Medtronic, e tem um período de aquecimento de 2 horas. Outra vantagem é que não teremos que esperar o tempo de carregamento do transmissor entre um sensor e outro, o que hoje deixa o algoritmo às cegas por um período. A aplicação é super parecida com o Libre, mas o aplicador já vem montado (evitando erros de encaixe) e a colocação é muuuuito suave (no vídeo eu estava esperando por algo mais abrupto, mas foi tão suave que até estranhei, não senti NADA! — muito bom pra crianças que se assustam com a aplicação). Começará a ser comercializado no meio do ano na Europa. Ainda não tenho a data de chegada ao Brasil, mas caminha a passos largos para isso 💙 comenta aqui embaixo se ficou com alguma dúvida, se gostou da novidade e se já tinha ouvido falar dele em algum lugar 👇🏼

Hmmm 🤔, after a month being back on daily injections sure helped me see pros and cons of both systems. ✅ Adding 2 units of Tresiba at bedtime has solved my fasting glucose issue! ✅ The convenience of “wearing” my insulin, not having to inject or carry pens in my purse was freeing. Both cartridges are about empty, it’s time to decide if I’ll keep at it for another month. The photo in the beginning of this reel, along with multiple patient/client encounters has shown me that there is a dire need for education on insulin pen use. First, if you didn’t notice in the photo. This guy is giving a forearm injection with no needle on the pen and clearly no insulin in the pen… The fact that this is a photo that pops up when searching insulin pen use online is alarming… do not put an insulin injection in your forearm! Steps for pen use: 1. Remove the pen cap. Make sure the pen top is clean. 2. Place the needle on the pen. 3. Dial to 2 units. 4. Push out 2 units to test the needle to make sure it works and remove any air. 5. Dial the pen to the actual dose of insulin as prescribed by your provider. 6. Give your injection in the arm, leg, abdomen, butt, or lower back. 7. Put the cap back on the needle and twist it off the pen. 8. Place the big cap on the pen and store in the refrigerator. If you find it difficult to remember if you’ve take a shot with your insulin pen, consider getting a smart pen such as the @medtronicdiabetes InPen. This allows you to see last dose given, active insulin time, as well as other pertinent information. #medtronic #inpen #insulinpen #diabeteseducator #diabetesawareness #insulinaddict #checkdontguess
