The intricate anatomical details described by Andreas Vesalius in the 16th century have become even easier to comprehend thanks to modern 'projection mapping' technology. From the contraction of muscles to the strength of tendons, everything unfolds before your eyes like a magical visual layer.
👉🏼 Spatial Computing and Motion Sensors are the driving force behind this interactive display:
1. High-Resolution Projection Mapping: Vesalius's original woodcut illustrations have been digitally scanned. A projector casts these layers onto a 3D model or surface in such a way that they appear lifelike.
2. Layered Storytelling: This feature displays muscles and tendons in distinct layers. As a viewer brings their hand close to the sensors, the projection shifts—creating the sensation that you are performing a dissection yourself.

DE🫂 What if art didn’t just move you, but moved with you? In the world of sculptor @ja.ko.mo (Jakob Grosse-Ophoff), his work sways, bends and gestures at his whim. Led by his curiosities around mechanical systems and human behavior, Jakob builds sculptures that mimic our everyday movements, from bubble-blowing to bear hugs. “Human behavior is a major source of inspiration for me,” he says. “Humans can be incredibly weird, funny, vulnerable and beautiful at the same time.” Jakob works with wood, metal and electrical components to build his sculptures, combining traditional techniques with mechanical parts and everyday objects to move fluidly between engineering and his artistic intuition. “There are often many hours of trial and error, frustration and small failures,” he shares. “The most rewarding moment is when everything finally works and when the movement becomes fluid and the sculpture suddenly feels alive.” 🪵
