My past educational experiences of over-analyzing and criticizing poems and my own creative writing turned me off to it completely. But, as with a great many things, poetry is being redeemed through this journey of home education. These are the main reasons we make sure to include it in our education. Language Arts is way more than just reading and writing — it's reading, writing, grammar, spelling, vocab... basically a whole party of skills. 😂🎉 This year, I'm keeping it simple by using separate curriculums for each part — and honestly, it's been a total game-changer. Splitting it up means I can give more attention to the areas where my kids need extra instruction or practice, without feeling like we're drowning in a never-ending Language Arts lesson. And instead of tackling everything every single day, we loop our LA subjects — meaning some days we focus heavier on reading, others on writing or grammar. It keeps our days lighter and makes sure nothing gets left behind. ✏️📚 Sharing what we're using for the 25/26 school year in the reel — I hope it gives you some ideas for planning too! 👇 Tell me — how do you tackle Language Arts in your homeschool? What I love about it: ♥️ It's Charlotte Mason inspired 🧡 It uses classic literature and passages from the books for all the grammar concepts, spelling and writing for the rest of the week. 💛 It breaks up the weekly rhythm with fun unit studies like a Poetry unit, Shakespeare, Newspaper writing, Research papers and so many others 💚 It's books choices LLATL has been a wonderful fit for our family and we plan on using them again for next year's language arts ✨🩷 Today for #tuesdayhomeschoolfriends we are sharing our favorite resources!
