Good morning from San Diego. First run. First content. Six days in and we’re already moving.” The year didn’t start slow travel and work were already in full motion. And when life is already moving fast, I’ve learned that motivation isn’t something you can rely on.That’s why I’m not someone who does New Year’s resolutions. What’s always worked better for me is consistency. Last year, I attempted to run every single day. With travel, that wasn’t always possible but over the year, I still averaged about 8.2 miles a day, just over 3,030 miles total.” No extremes. No hero days. Just showing up. So this year, instead of a resolution, I picked a theme I can actually live by and come back to. “That theme is consistency over intensity.” For me, consistency over intensity means choosing what I can repeat long-term, not what I can force for a short burst. And this year, I’m not trying to do something drastic I’m just nudging that consistency forward about 2 more miles a day, which puts me a little over 3,700 miles for the year.” And this year’s theme isn’t really about running. It’s how I approach my health, my work, and my relationships steady, repeatable progress instead of burning out. And I’ve been there myself a few times. I’m sure we all have. If you’ve chosen a theme for the year and you feel comfortable sharing it, I’d love to hear it. “And if it’s something I or someone in this community can help support you with, even better.” So let’s all start this year strong motivated, consistent, and purposeful in our daily lives.
