The collaboration took place on Nov. 15, 2012 for a Live From Daryl’s House episode, Daryl Hall’s long‑running jam‑and‑hang series where he invites musicians to play stripped‑down, live‑in‑studio versions of their songs.

MU“Joy to the World” was written by Hoyt Axton and made famous by the rock band Three Dog Night. The song is also popularly known by its opening lyric, ‘Jeremiah was a bullfrog’ which was never meant to be a lyric. Hoyt wrote it as a placeholder for a cartoon that never aired. He scribbled ‘Jeremiah was a bullfrog’ as a joke, planning to fix it later, but Three Dog Night recorded it before he could.
The band didn’t even like the song until Chuck Negron pushed for it. Then a Seattle DJ accidentally spun it on air and suddenly it became the no. 1 song of 1971.

MUFleetwood Mac Founder Quits: On this date (April 11) 56 years ago, Fleetwood Mac founder and blues-rock guitar virtuoso Peter Green (pictured here) quits the band.
Green gave his walking papers while on tour with the band in Europe. Sources close to the band said Green’s departure was linked to his mental decline.
The band’s manager said at that time that Green’s troubled mental state was probably related to taking LSD at a party at a commune in Munich, Germany that year.
However, other reports said that Green and other band members dropped acid together when they arrived in New York in 1968, the start of its U.S. tour. After opening for the Grateful Dead at the Fillmore East, the band was offered “the best, most pure LSD available,” which the band consumed in its hotel room.
Green, who was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia, spent most of the ‘70s in and out of psychiatric hospitals. He later re-emerged professionally to record solo albums and joined sessions with various artists including a song on Fleetwood Mac’s “Tusk” album.
Green died in his sleep at the age of 73 in 2020. #rock #blues #classicrock #rocknroll #guitar
