IMSo why is it there? 👇🏼
At Edington Priory Church, a coffin sits on top of a boundary wall. It is not buried in the ground, not placed inside the church, and not mentioned in any surviving records. No name, no date, and no clear explanation for how or why it ended up there.
Over the years, local stories have tried to fill the gap. Some say it was the resting place of a disgraced monk who broke his vows. Others claim it belonged to a woman accused of witchcraft, or someone denied burial in consecrated ground for reasons long forgotten. Each story is darker than the last, but none can be proven.
What makes it so compelling is that the church itself has no answers. The coffin remains exactly where it is, suspended between the sacred and the rejected, quietly reminding us that history does not always leave us neat conclusions.

The Summers, a prominent family in the area owned an Epsom water spring and shipped water throughout the country. Their beautiful house on the corner was built by James Wright, another prominent local businessman.
When James Summers married Wright’s only daughter the house and a store that went with it were wedding gifts for the newly weds.
The Summers entertained congressmen and governors, a summer house on the property was also used for entertaining. It was later purchased by The Dalton’s and was a showplace in the community for years. I’ve been told it been empty for 20+ years now.

MOEvery Yakima local knows the “Palm Springs of Washington” sign…but not everyone knows the story behind it.
That sign? It’s actually a piece of my family’s history.
My Uncle Gary Lukehart dreamed it up, and my dad, Roger, was all in.
After moving from California, they both felt Yakima shared that same sun-drenched desert feel they loved about Palm Springs.
Gary wanted something catchy - something that pulled people’s eyes off I-82 and made them curious about this valley. So he put up the sign. Simple as that.
Some folks debate it, but to me it’s nostalgic, quirky, and part of Yakima’s personality.
Every time I drive by, I’m reminded that my family left a little mark on the valley we love.

EMThe northern part of Kyoto holds a special place in my heart. The spot in this video is Kayabuki-no-Sato, known for its beautiful thatched-roof houses.
Because they’re highly flammable, the entire village is protected by a unique system of 62 water hoses that automatically spray water if a fire ever breaks out.
Twice a year, in May and December, the local fire brigade tests the system, and it’s absolutely breathtaking ❤️
