DJJust arrived and had to dive right in, no manual, dropped a couple samples, used the built in mic, some factory sounds and this is what came out!
….
Super fun to use, super easy to get into and make something happen. I do hope that in future updates @akai_pro adds additional components to really make use of the features on-board like pad mutes and a few others. This thing is coming with me everywhere!

AGBeen hunting for the right machine for a long time now. Hands down my favorite piece of hardware to date. I bought my MPC Live III hoping it would be that machine, but instead discovered a love for more dedicated standalone DAW production. While the MPC Live III is an absolute beast, it’s too bulky and complicated for the workflow I was really looking for. The portability and unexpected power that the MPC Sample brings to the table is a dream come true, all while staying simple and approachable. A simple workflow has always brought out more creativity in me. Not perfect by any means, but perfect for me.

ITAkai‘s brand new MPC just arrived and got the name „Sample“. As long term MPC heavy user i had to check it out. The good thing: You don’t need a manual to understand how it works.
I do not yet really know what Akai‘s idea or concept is with this unit. As a kid‘s toy it’s unfortunately too complicated and as serious production tool it’s missing some features. Neither meat nor fish.
It could be a cool add on to a dj set. I guess that’s what i am using it for.
All in all it’s quite well built for the price.
