JAI was digging through my kitchen drawer for a skewer when I found this double-pronged cocktail fork thingy. I applied acrylic paint to parchment paper and pressed it on the page. I used my new tool to make squiggly double lines.

FAThis might be one of my favorite mark making techniques on my @gelliarts gel plate. Laying down string or yarn in random patterns over wet paint and picking up the print gives you such beautiful, organic lines. I just love it!

KAMark making is literally that. Different lines, dots, patterns, movements with a tool. Abstract. Intuitive. Following the brush. Without looking for meaning and without making anything. Except marks.
My reflections emerged about my process, I notice: I was methodical with the marks for short periods and then shifted to a different space to make a very different marks. Spontaneous. Restless? I experienced satisfaction in filling some of the white areas with the wash from wetting the paper and ink. I experienced annoyance at the brush bending in ways I didn’t expect and annoyance that it did not hold much water and I had to continually dip it in the water. And I just allowed those reflections to come and go without doing anything, just being present and acknowledging them.

SUMon petit carnet à gribouillis se remplit doucement mais sûrement. Et le tien ? Si tu te demandes comment ça se passe, je te dis tout. J’adore ce genre de petit projet qui ne mène à rien de spécial, à part se faire plaisir et se dégourdir les pinceaux. 😊 Créer des motifs c’est d’abord débrancher son cerveau et ne pas se prendre la tête avec les notions de beau ou de talent.
