Time is not on our side. So let’s talk about what that actually means in practical terms. When I say the rules are being rewritten, here’s what’s actually happening: ∙ Global supply chains are fracturing and rebuilding regionally RIGHT NOW ∙ AI is automating jobs faster than predicted & Black workers are 40% more likely to be in high-risk positions ∙ Traditional banking is tightening credit exactly when we need it most ∙ Everything costs more, and Black households spend higher percentages on essentials ∙ The global order that’s existed since WWII is collapsing in real time This isn’t theory. This is Monday. CONSOLIDATING RESOURCES IS AN UNDERUTILIZED STRATEGY 🚨🚨🚨 We can’t afford scattered individual efforts anymore. We need collective leverage, coordinated action, and strategic deployment of what we actually have. LOW-HANGING FRUIT - THINGS WE CAN DO RIGHT NOW: 1️⃣ Pool resources for essentials Create buying collectives for food, supplies, household goods. Use collective purchasing power to negotiate better pricing. This is basic mutual aid infrastructure. This can be done with a simple MOU. 2️⃣ Redirect spending to Black-owned businesses Even if it costs 5-10% more, keep those dollars circulating in our communities. Every dollar that stays with us is power. 3️⃣ Build skill-sharing networks Who has legal knowledge? Medical skills? Trades expertise? Digital skills? MAP IT. SHARE IT. USE IT. PSA- I have an entrepreneur community I’m growing. Link in my bio. 4️⃣ Cash reserves NOW If you don’t have 3-6 months of operating expenses saved, that’s your immediate priority. Not new programs. Cash. 5️⃣ Audit your subscriptions and recurring costs Cancel everything that isn’t directly generating revenue or serving an essential function. Redirect that money to reserves or productive use. 6️⃣ Get your documents in order Passports, birth certificates, business formation docs, tax returns—digitized, backed up, accessible. If you need to move fast, you can’t be hunting for paperwork.

If surviving right now feels impossible, it’s not because you’re failing. We’re living inside systems that were never designed for collective well-being — and research backs that up. Across psychology, sociology, and social work, studies consistently show that people survive crisis not through individual resilience, but through collective imagination, shared meaning-making, and sustained relationships. That’s why this video focuses on: • imagining futures together, not alone • treating storytelling like infrastructure, not content • building mutual aid and social trust without burnout • shifting from self-blame to communal coping These aren’t “nice ideas.” They’re evidence-based survival strategies — especially for people who can’t protest, can’t leave the house, or are already exhausted. You don’t need to do everything. You just need to do something — with others. Drop one small way you’re practicing community care or collective imagination below. Save this for later. Share it with someone who needs permission to rest and resist. #communitycare #phd #research #mutualaid #worldbuilding

To Australians who are looking away, who think ICE is an “American thing”, who are still burying their head in the sand, I need you to understand that this isn’t fear mongering, this is fact sharing. We need to grasp how much danger we are in right now.. This is a call to wake up, mobilize, start a community mutual aid network, tie your laces and join the fight in figuring out how we protect ourselves. We will be protesting against the arrival of Israeli president, Isaac Hertzog, who is committing genocide in Gaza. He should not be allowed to enter this country without facing arrest. I’m also pushing for a general strike. Protests must achieve outcomes. A general strike is a sure fire way to have our demands met. We need to hit them where it hurts: their pockets. Get informed, stay informed and show up. Free Palestine. 🇵🇸 Thanks @zee_sydneymum for my kefiyahs xx

It turns out they want small businesses to become delivery hubs for them. It’s something entirely different from their “Buy For Me” program where they list small business products on Amazon without their permission. This interaction was unsettling on so many levels but it is just affirming what we already know: our money has power and by carefully deciding where we spend it, we can make real change. It’s time to stop giving money to these corporations that won’t stop until they’ve swallowed our very consciousness whole. Disrespectfully, Amazon can shove it. If you want to stop funding the corporations that are funding fascism but unsure where to start, follow @swapmeetashland and join our monthly “Coffee, Donuts, & Divestment” discussion on the first Sundays of the month- we talk casually about divesting from harmful corporations like amazon, planning mutual aid and collective action that will build a resilient, self reliant community. Why do you think amazon is spending so many resources to position themselves with small businesses? If Swami Vivekananda hadn’t been allowed into the U.S. in 1893, yoga wouldn’t reach the West as it did. If Paramahansa Yogananda had been barred in 1920, no teachings no global spread. If my parents had been denied visas, I wouldn’t be here. Yoga didn’t magically appear in studios, apps, retreats, or teacher trainings. Immigrants carried it, across oceans, through colonization, racism, surveillance, and exclusion so we could practice today. So when we say we “love yoga” but stay silent while immigrants are blocked, banned, detained, deported, or forced to live in fear, that’s failing to practice yoga’s true essence. Ahimsa and Ishvara pranidhana - interrupting harm and preserving sovereignty. Practice is not neutral. Practice looks like: – speaking up when visas are blocked – sharing Know Your Rights resources – supporting mutual aid and bond funds – demanding policies that protect people, not punish them - abolishing ICE Share your values. “No Immigrants? No Yoga!” tees and sweatshirts with proceeds going to BIPOC scholarships in yoga and immigrant justice available now yogachangemaker.com 👚 Comment JUSTICE to get yours. #immigrantjustice #decolonizeyoga

Burnout is a real thing in movements along with PTSD, anxiety, etc. Choosing one to two lanes (or any overlapping that works) can help you sustain energy All but three of these roles developed by Deepa Iver In the “Social Change Map” in my bio. I added Researcher, Documentor, and fundraisers but this is not part of the original framework. Please stay safe and vigilant out here. With love and solidarity. 🧡 Roles outlined by Deepa at the Building movement project: Weavers: I see the through-lines of connectivity between people, places, organizations, ideas, and movements. E Experimenters: I innovate, pioneer, and invent. I take risks and course-correct as needed. Frontline Responders: I address community crises by marshaling and organizing resources, networks, and messages. Visionaries: I imagine and generate our boldest possibilities, hopes and dreams, and remind us of our direction. Builders: I develop, organize, and implement ideas, practices, people, and resources in service of a collective vision. Caregivers: I nurture and nourish the people around me by creating and sustaining a community of care, joy, and connection. Disruptors: I take uncomfortable and risky actions to shake up the status quo, to raise awareness, and to build power. Healers: I recognize and tend to the generational and current traumas caused by oppressive systems, institutions, policies, and practices. Storytellers: I craft and share our community stories, cultures, experiences, histories, and possibilities through art, music, media, and movement. Guides: I teach, counsel, and advise, using my gifts of well-earned discernment and wisdom. Additions I thought of: Fundraisers: I know how to find funds and do so for community mutual aid, organizations, and arrest funds. Documentors: I want to be there with a camera in hand on site to deter people from hurting my community. Reaseacher: I enjoy studying an I see patterns. I know a lot about movement history. Sources: @deepaviyer and i found this @buildingmovementproject, my own experience as an organizer for TWO (only fundraiser and documentor) of the roles named, and Black radicalism.

@dimension20show Gladlands is Joan Tronto’s Ethics of Care in action. Helping others is mechanically stronger than helping yourself. Burnout is built into the system, push too hard alone and you’re done. Care is political. Care has costs. And care, when shared, is the most powerful thing at the table. We need games like this in classrooms, in agencies, in organizing spaces. If a TTRPG can teach mutual aid through dice, what’s our excuse? #ttrpg #socialwork #Dimension20 #reels #mutualaid

ICE is here in Utah. They're taking our neighbors, ripping apart families, and building a concentration camp in Salt Lake City. One of these families is that of Emran and Sajad Kohistani, who were taken by ICE during a routine immigration check-in at the courthouse. They were trying to "do it the right way," but instead they were detained and their lives were shattered. KEEP SHOWING UP for protests and for our immigrant neighbors, and support mutual aid efforts in your community. ICE has been kicked out before and we can do it again. We will keep standing together, and we will get ICE out. Donate here to support the family's survival during this nightmare (gofund.me/0b987286b) Comment "ex" below and I'll send you the direct link to help the Kohistani Family. P.s. @nateforutah is running for Congress in Utah's District 1. He has my endorsement whether he wants it or not
