Rogal Dorn Primarch of the Imperial Fists – WIP painting update ⚒️ Today I finished painting the right shoulder pad. It’s richly decorated, so it took some time to get all the details right. A few people have asked me how I paint this dark NMM gold armor, so here’s roughly my process — unfortunately I don’t have the equipment or skills to record a video 😅: 1️⃣ I start with a few layers of Mournfang Brown glazes over a black undercoat. 2️⃣ Next, I apply XV-88 as a lighter highlight. 3️⃣ Sometimes I take AK Wargaming black wash, thin it slightly with White Spirit, and apply it in the recesses to let it spread naturally. I like this wash because it dries matte, but I have to be careful — it can flow over highlights and darken them too much. I sometimes touch up the XV-88 highlights after this. 4️⃣ Next is Balor Brown, applied to give a warmer, golden tone. 5️⃣ For spot highlights I use Screaming Skull. 6️⃣ If I want a softer, less intense highlight, I use Morghast Bone on secondary highlight areas, or stop at one of the previous highlight stages. 7️⃣ In the darkest areas, I add a black glaze between the highlights. Step by step, slowly bringing the gold NMM together ✨ #paintingwarhammer #primarch #warhammer40k #nmm #miniaturepainting

Dans ce short, je montre une méthode beaucoup plus rapide : créer des taches de peinture puis utiliser l’aérographe pour générer des variations de volume et de lumière. Une technique simple qui permet d’obtenir un NMM crédible sans passer des heures avec des glacis. Parfait pour expérimenter le non metallic metal argent rapidement.
