A simple guide to understanding p-values and significance: If your p-value would have been above 0.05, it doesn't mean there's no difference. It simply suggests that repeated experiments were likely give results closer to no difference. Although researchers might wish to interpret a p-value as the probability that random chance produced the observed data, this is not accurate. The p-value only measures how incompatible the data are with the null hypothesis.
