According to the United Nations Environment Programme @unep , around 4.8 million tonnes of waste is produced each year solely by tourists. While I have worked with different organisations in coaching and mentoring founders or leading teams of innovators and changemakers working on solving waste management issues in different parts of the world, either through my engagements at @seedsta.rs , or as one of the SDG12 Innovation Facilitators for @unleashlab 2019, or @startupweekend programs, or with @secondmuse , @tincubation The Incubation Network or with GIZ, or @recircle.in on various programs focusing on accelerating innovative solutions, tackling plastic waste mismanagement, recycling and upcycling in the Indo-Pacific & ASEAN region. Through this interactions, I have gained new insights into waste management & recycling industry across various geographies and natural ecosystems. The learning led me to realise that while businesses must continue to devise responsible strategies, we individuals can make a huge difference through conscious and responsible travelling. This #NationalToursimDay, here are some of my tips to get you started. These are the things I personally follow, as a steady traveller and mountaineer myself.
