Harris County’s hospital district is proposing a major expansion of Ben Taub Hospital into a 100-year floodplain despite a state law banning new hospitals in such areas.⁠ ⁠ The plan involves condemning nine acres of Hermann Park land and building a new tower there with roughly 100 additional beds.
