If you’re Jamaican and serious about working remotely, you need to know which companies are actually hiring from here and paying rates that make sense. There are a lot of remote job posts online, but very few companies consistently hire Jamaicans, understand the market, and pay based on role and responsibility, not just location. Two companies that continue to stand out are Remote Leverage and Sagan Recruitment. I’ve spoken directly with recruiters from both, and the pay ranges reflect real remote work standards, not race-to-the-bottom pricing. Here’s what matters: • Pay typically starts around USD $6 per hour • Roles scale up to USD $12 per hour and beyond for more experienced candidates • Senior and specialized roles can go much higher • These companies use structured vetting, not random selection Many Jamaicans have already secured roles through these companies because they met the expectations and presented themselves properly. I did the big stores, 2 different cities & it gave me crazy advantage as a beauty artist. But big leases and high monthly costs were draining profit as I transitioned, not growing it. 2 I eliminated Managing a large team in different cities. I downsized to focus on scaling myself first. 3 I eliminated Buying every new product drop. I streamlined to essentials that actually improved results. 4 I eliminated Outsourcing everything. I invested in learning ads, numbers, and systems so I could control my margins & then once I was stretched thin I would outsource. 5 I eliminated The belief that in-person hours were the only way to earn well. Remote leverage changed that completely. I was able to move back to Miami & travel less 6 I eliminated Hesitation around pivoting. Staying comfortable was costing more than trying something new. I was scared how beauty industry could become remote but I pioneered it 7 I eliminated Procrastination disguised as “planning.” Revenue moves when action moves. 8 I eliminated Trying to look successful instead of building profit quietly.
