And while the Turkish military rolls in German tanks, the Federal Government rolls out the red carpet for the Syrian president and war criminal, al-Scharaa. Meanwhile, German corporations such as Siemens are already planning their business with the profits of reconstruction. As class-conscious young people and workers, we MUST show international solidarity by opposing our own imperialist government and its warmongering around the world. Let us continue the youth strikes against conscription that brought thousands of young people onto the streets with our protest: Let us take up the fight against German imperialism. Rojava is under attack. But no matter how many bullets are fired, our hope cannot die. The courage of the fighters of the Rojava Revolution is an example to us and gives us hope even in times of war and crisis. To defend the revolution is to defend hope! The Kurds are once again under attack. Our people, our land, and our revolutionary ideas of freedom. Such as the political women-led region Rojava, and therefore the women who stood at the frontlines to protect us from ISIS. But also Rojhilat, Başur, and Bakur. Today, thousands of Kurds are facing renewed attacks, displacement, and death. With this violence comes yet another attempt to erase Kurdish identity. Kurds have always been forced to prove their right to exist, as if our presence and our fight for others alone were never enough. You will be hard-pressed to meet a Kurd who has not been othered in this world. We grow up knowing exclusion and oppression, whether in Kurdistan or the diaspora. So please include the Kurds in your activism, in your prayers, and in your hearts. I wrote this song, Azadî, years ago. Just weeks after I released it, Jina Mahsa Amini was murdered. I changed the lyrics to her name and will always sing it that way. Sadly, today this song is once again more relevant than ever. Also for the people in Iran, whom I also pray for everyday. I also deeply pray for Iran, people are once again risking their lives for basic freedom. My heart is absolutely shattered for all of those who have lost their lives during the protests. My heart is with everyone who continues to resist, despite the cost. Because, as Kurdish saying, goes:
Jin, Jiyan, Azadî
Woman, life, freedom.
