ALIf you’re looking for something to do in South Carolina I highly suggest you check out Table Rock State Park. There are plenty of hiking trails, my favorite one being the Table Rock trail which takes you to the very top of Table Rock.
Just make sure you keep track of time because when I went hiking here I got distracted taking awesome photos of the scenery and forgot that I still had to hike 3 miles down the mountain to get to my car while it was getting dark. Thankfully I made it back to my car, but don’t make the same mistake I did.

One of our favorite outdoor spots in SC is just 30 minutes from the main strip in Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, along 17! 🚨Don't miss:
🐙 The Octopus Tree: a live oak that you can climb on! (park by the North End Beach and look for the Sandpiper Trail near the observation deck - tree is about a quarter mile in)
🌲 The Sandpiper Trail: begins at the observation deck and ends at the nature center (point to point trail, 2 mi)
🐢 Nature Center: take the trail or park in the Nature Center lot. You can hold horseshoe crabs and starfish, check out reptiles, and learn about coastal wildlife
🏖️ The Beach: the North End beach has a beautiful jetty, the main beach - Ceremony Beach - is closer to amenities (ice cream, playground, campgrounds, gift shop)
🏰 Atalaya Castle: a historic estate owned by the Huntington family - you can take a self guided tour at no additional cost.

CHIf you’re going from Pretty Place to literally anywhere in South Carolina, you’ll go right by Caesars Head State Park. It’s one of my favorite places and it faces the sunset, so I love bringing people here after an evening at Pretty Place. It wasn’t raining anymore where we were, but we could still see and hear the storm from miles away. The sunset turned so red and it just kept getting better and better. We even saw a few fireflies as we came through the woods. Linzi and Jake said this is one of the prettiest places they’ve ever seen, and this was the coolest it’s ever looked for me.

THE HIKE ⤵️
📍 Rainbow Falls in Jones Gap State Park
Things you’ll need:
- if going on the weekend, secure a reservation for arrival between 9 am - 1 pm or you will get turned away!!! You will also need to pay the day use fee or bring your state parks pass 🎟️
- Pack a lot of water, especially on hot days. There are streams for your pup to drink from but it’s smart to pack extra for them just in case. Also, bring some snacks. We love nuts, protein/granola bars, and fresh fruit 🍓
- Wear layers during the shoulder seasons as the mornings can be cool but you’ll heat up quickly 🥵
- Make sure to follow signage as there are changes to the trail since Hurricane Helene. Numerous areas have a lot of damage and it’s important to stay on trail where it’s been deemed safe.
As always… leave no trace. This means packing out everything you pack in and leaving the area better than you found it 💛
THE BITE ⤵️
📍 Tandem Creperie and Coffeehouse in Travelers Rest
This hike will make you RAVENOUS and @tandem_cc truly delivers on that front. If you live in Greenville, this is an easy stop on the way home and if it’s nice out, you can enjoy your food outside on the dog friendly patio 🐶
Some of our favorites included the fiesta + sausage and potato crepes. We obviously had to try a special as well and can’t rave enough about the Bacon Pimento Cheese Waffle with Jalapeño Cilantro Sauce…. YUM 🤤
If you have a sweet tooth like us, you absolutely have to finish off your meal with an iconic sweet crepe. Strawberry Nutella, Key Lime Pie, and Blueberry Cream are just a few of the delicious options available 🫐🍋🟩🍓
P.S. they currently have a sparkling strawberry lemonade that is to die for 🍋
