MRThis reel is a few years old but the message hasn’t changed one bit. School librarians are STILL the heartbeat of every school they serve. I may not be in a school library anymore, but I will forever be a librarian at my core and I will never stop shouting from the rooftops about what these incredible humans do every single day.
April is School Library Month, so let me say this loud for the people in the back: If you have a school librarian, you have a co-teacher, a tech coach, a reading mentor, a safe space builder, a makerspace facilitator, and the one person in the building who knows every kid’s name. ALL of that in one role.
Teachers, your librarian is your secret weapon. Walk down the hall this week and tell them you see them. Better yet, ask them to collaborate on something. I promise the magic that happens will change everything for your students.
Librarians, you already know. But just in case nobody’s told you lately: what you do matters more than you’ll ever fully see. Happy School Library Month!! 🎉
