CRHere is a great way to save an image/text from a shirt you love that you can’t wear anymore. I’ve listed all the steps here in the caption for your convenience:
1. Cut around the graphic you want to transfer to a new shirt. Leave yourself some extra space around the edges of the image. It’s best to cut a square out with your image inside.
2. Attach a light iron-on adhesive to the back of your square cut-out. You can also just pin the image on your new shirt and sew, but this can help reduce buckling.
3. Cut out your image more closely to the edges, or however you want it to look. Get creative! Cut a flower shape around the image if you like. I chose to cut around the border of my image and then cut out the text separately.
4. Peel of the backing of the iron-on adhesive and iron it on your new shirt wherever you want it to go.
5. Zigzag stitch around the edges of the cut-out to reduce fraying. If you don’t want to do this part, use a stronger iron-on adhesive. I highly recommend using a medium weight tear-away stabilizer under your shirt as you sew. This really helps keep things smooth and unwrinkled!
