❌ Never buy in clear bottles. Light damages oil and make it go rancid.
✅ Find Small, dark, glass bottles for better preservation
✅ Oils absorb contaminates and chemicals so look for Organic.
✅ Cold pressed oils are the most nutrient dense. Heat destroys oil so avoid any oils that use heat for extraction.
✅ Look for a Harvest Date on the back of the bottle. Find the one with the most current date.

ENEver wondered how EWG ranks produce in our Shopper’s Guide? Let’s break it down!
We analyze USDA pesticide level data, which includes the testing of fruits and veggies just like you’d prep them at home (rinsing apples 🍎, peeling avocados 🥑, etc.). Then we rank produce using four key metrics:
🧪 Abundance – How often pesticides appear
🔎 Diversity – How many different pesticides are found
📊 Intensity – Total pesticide concentration
⚠️ Toxicity (New!) – Measures overall toxicity of pesticides
The result? A more robust guide to help you shop smarter. And remember: eat plenty of fruits & veggies – no matter how they’re grown!

Here @sonjakm provides guidance on which items to prioritize at the grocery store so you can make informed decisions about how we fuel our bodies, specifically when it comes to organic and non-organic food:
⚠️ The Environmental Working Group uses USDA and FDA data to determine the amount of pesticides in produce. Then, as part of its “Shoppers Guide to Pesticides in Produce,” the EWG then publishes a list of the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables and the 15 with the least amount of contaminants.
💦 The data is based on nearly 45,000 food samples tested after the produce has been washed and, when necessary, peeled.
🛒 The lists, which have been published and updated every year since 2004, are intended to help consumers prioritize which foods to buy organic to avoid pesticides and which foods can be bought at non-organic prices with less pesticide risk.
📝 The EWG says, “Conventional agriculture continues to use large quantities of toxic pesticides. As a result, USDA researchers detect pesticide residues on many of the fruits and vegetables they test. That’s why EWG updates our Shopper’s Guide each year.”
🥑 Although these lists contain only 27 produce items combined, the EWG includes the pesticide content of 46 items in total and offers guidance, so you can further tweak your grocery list accordingly.
