FASolaro fabric was actually invented in 1907 by an English Medical Doctor of Italian origin, who thought it had healing properties because it reflected the sun.
In fact, it was used for the uniforms of the British military in the Indian colonies.
Today, we obviously know that it didn’t have these healing properties. It’s a fabric that has a different warp and weft color, which creates an iridescent effect on the front and a brick color on the back.
It has a weight of 360gr/mt, it is perfect for mid-seasons and, in particular, for morning meetings, not also for evening meetings, as suggested by its name, Solaro, which contains the word “sun.”

Let’s take a closer look at the jacket. Unlike our usual fully unstructured construction, this piece is lightly canvassed, incorporating a touch of horsehair for added shape—while still remaining deeply rooted in our sartorial tradition. The shoulder is softly padded, yet always crafted a camicia, true to Neapolitan tailoring.
