Alright, you keep asking me where to get better pants, this is where. I would really recommend thrifting either way, but if you want to buy new: 1. Bronson. This brand does Americana really well at really good prices The "classic ivy" has a crease and pleats (pleats aren't really Ivy if you wanna be a nerd about it), so they're $40 and can be dressed up reasonably easily. They also have more casual options, jeans, fatigues, and a whole lot more. If you're looking at their alpha sized pants, I'd recommend sizing up. 2. J. Crew: specifically recommending the classic and giant fit chinos (and giant fit cords, if they come back). The giant fits don't go on sale often, and usually don't get that cheap, but I think they're a good value at full price. 3. Casatlantic. Vintage-inspired styles (and some custom vintage-inspired fabrics recreated just for them) in four different vintage-inspired cuts. The El Jadida is a good slim option. $180 is a very good price for these, and they're easy to dress up or down as their awesome lookbooks show. Oh, and they also do linen, and shorts, and other good things! 4. Studio Nicholson is doing more unique cuts. I really want like four pairs of their pants. But they're more expensive. If you want to experiment with these, show me what you come up with because I'm sure it'll be good. If you don't like these, don't worry, they can't hurt you. 5. Buck Mason. I like their full saddle cut, and the Graduate pants that come with this suit are good, but... Don't just buy the pants, go with the whole suit! I got the pricing slightly wrong, it's $626 for the whole suit, still a very good price. Or get rhe full saddles in herringbone twill... I love mine. Or... They have a lot of pants, check them out. There are dozens of other brands doing good chinos, so I obviously left some out, but these five brands are really great options. Comment below with what you want to see next: thrifting pants, linen pants, dress pants, or—could it be?—shirts. Although I've already done some shirts...

【店舗取材】「スタジオ ニコルソン（STUDIO NICHOLSON）」は7月14日、日本初のフラッグシップストアを東京・北青山にオープン。同店舗は、ロンドンのソーホーにあるフラッグシップストアをモデルに、ブランドコンセプトである“モジュラー ワードローブ（組み合わせ自由なモジュール式のワードローブ）”の概念を体現する新たな場所として誕生する。 クリエイティブディレクターのニック・ウェイクマン（Nick Wakeman）のおすすめアイテムは、オープンを記念して発売される"AKAKO WOOL SHIRT"（4万6200円）と"KYO PANT"（4万9500円）のセットアップだ。オーバーサイズシャツとツータックボリュームパンツをベースに、素材は日本産のトロピカルウールを採用。どちらもボリュームがあり「スタジオ ニコルソン」らしいシルエットで、パンツはフロント部分のダブルプリーツが美しい流動性を加える。ほかにもウィメンズとメンズのフルコレクション、アクセサリーやレザーグッズ、フットウエアの取り扱いを予定している。 同氏は、日本にストアをオープンした理由として、「25年近く日本を訪れていますが、日本は仕事を通して大きなインスピレーションを与えてくれた場所です。2010年にブランドを立ち上げた時から、私の頭の中に日本がなかったことはありません。私のデザインは東京の街角で見かけたシルエットを参考にしていますし、日本のインテリアや建築のカラーパレットは、私の好みの色彩です。多くの友人もでき、第二の故郷のように感じている日本でのストアオープンは、私にとって特別な瞬間です」とコメントした。 ■スタジオ ニコルソン 青山

Sage Nation and Studio Nicholson had contenders in the shin-grazer space but I slept and everything sold out. Found the mythic Installation Coat from @mfpen_ on sale online from a shop in Osaka - shipped duties paid. That clinched it. Couldn’t be happier with the fit. Just the right side of oversized. Weighty. Hangs perfectly. Proper siege of Stalingrad Enemy at the Gates proportions. Forever coat. #mfpen #ourlegacy
