JOIf you’ve been here with me for a while then you know I’ve been traveling and building companies and movements non stop for about 12 years.
I’ve fallen in love with this global life —the languages it brings into my brain and how every trip invites new friendships and connections that teach me a bit more about the world and my place in it.
The main issue was always keeping count of my days with precise calculation. God forbid I’d become undocumented (again). Travel math is real and it wastes far too many mental calories to fully enjoy everything, talk about vibe killer.
And let’s be honest, I fell in love with a Belgian who’s worth all the paperwork and mental calories 😂.
There were easier options, a digital nomad visa somewhere else, getting faux married, trying to find a job to sponsor me…
but me being me brought me down the full blown entrepreneurship path where I had to prove to the Belgian government my business was worth bringing abroad.
I wanted to earn it with what I’ve built over the last decade.
But because governments still think influencers are scammers, and hosting a Netflix show AND having a journaling company are equally as confusing to old ways of thinking, I got denied twice (once from the UK, once in Belgium).
But third time was the charm.
My mom always says I want to give up right before the finish line.
She’s right, I was about to give up, but then tenacity (and pure rage) pulled me to the computer to complete the SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, full blown business plan, financial projections for the next two years, letters of intent from CEOs, transcripts, criminal records, and doctors notes, it was A LOT.
But we done did it y’all. I can officially live in Belgium and travel Europe freely to grow my visions without a ticking timer.
This is just a tiny reminder to not give up, you’re probably closer to the finish line than you think.
Oh, and the wisdom is true: the harder it is to conquer something, the sweeter the victory.
