I totally pulled it off! I brought my @schacht_spindle_company to Europe as a checked luggage. 🫣😂 it was a bold move, but I pulled it off. We had to remove a few pieces to get it under the weight threshold, but we got it where we needed it. Then I took it to the UPS Store and asked them to box it up. My mom said years ago they had commercials on TV of people bringing really odd-shaped stuff to the UPS Store and the people would confidently wrap it up. That was not quite my experience. There was a lot of head scratching involved, but it finally ended up in a box. So yes.... have loom, will travel! #weaving #weaver #fiberartist #garmentdesign #yarn #naturalfiber

What it looks like weaving a color inside of a color inside of a color, using an overshot pattern. . Including the “background” it takes 6 shuttles to weave 4 colors. Each section gets its own shuttle. It could be done with each color getting its own shuttle, but then there would be some major floats in the back, and on this scale that would result in a goodly portion of wasted threads. It’s sort of like tapestry weaving but within a pattern. It takes some good concentration, patience, and some deep breaths each time a thread gets tangled or a shuttle is dropped.
