I just checked out Squibler for the first time, and I will definitely be returning to this site for a writing challenge in the near future! Squibler, “The Most Dangerous Writing App” (I doubt it can possibly be worse then Fromsoft Word) is a site that deletes your progress in a writing session if you stop writing. It is a cool site that can definitely help writers who struggle with trying to write the perfect sentences instead of getting words on the page! Today I just did a five minute session but I may do a longer one soon for some sort of writing challenge! Have you ever tried this site or another site like it before? Anyone else doing a writing challenge this November? What’s your goal? I’m writing the discovery draft for book 2 in my dystopian series; book 2 is titled “Other People”. The goal is 50,000 words for this month. Why am I writing book 2 before publishing book 1? I love flawless foreshadowing and plot twists, which is exactly what you can expect from my “Other” series, starting with book 1: “Other People”. It’s about a society that divides good people and the violent ones. Anyone who doesn’t conform, gets sent to Other Island, a lawless place for people of chaos. Morgan is obsessed with following rules to stay safe, until the only person she loves dies under suspicious circumstances. While growing desperate to learn the truth behind those deaths, she becomes a criminal and gets sent to Other Island, where law won’t protect her anymore. I have been super inspired lately by @cureforparanoia’s 2025 writing goal of writing/posting a new rap every day of the year, and I am wanting to do a writing challenge for 2026 that is oriented toward social media. A challenge that will help me to share new and ideally interesting writings while I continue to work on my new books (which will likely take years before I can really share them with the world.) I have three ideas in mind. 1. Writing and posting a new poem every day of the year. 2. Writing new flash fiction (stories about 300 words, or 1-3 minutes in video form) a week. 3. Writing and posting a full short story every month.
