Ingredients
Pesaha appam
പച്ചരി/raw rice-2 cups
ഉഴുന്ന്/urad daal-1/4 cup
തേങ്ങ/grated coconut-1 cup
ചെറിയുള്ളി/shallots-4
വെളുത്തുളളി/garlic-2
നല്ലജീരകം/cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
ഉപ്പ്/salt-1 tsp
Soak raw rice and urad dal for 5 hours or overnight. Grind with grated coconut, shallots, garlic, cumin seeds, and salt into a thick batter. Let it rest for half an hour, then steam for about 15-20 minutes
Pesaha paal
രണ്ടാം തേങ്ങാപ്പാൽ/thin coconut milk-2 cup
ശർക്കര പൊടി/ jaggery powder-1/2 cup
വറുത്ത അരിപ്പൊടി/ roasted rice flour- 2 tbsp
ഏലയ്ക്ക പൊടി/cardamom powder-1/2 tsp
ജീരകംപൊടി/cumin powder-1/2 tsp
ഉപ്പ്/salt- 1/4 tsp
തലപ്പാൽ/thick coconut milk-1/2 cup
In a pan, mix thin coconut milk, jaggery powder, and rice flour, then boil. Add cardamom powder, cumin seeds powder, and salt, mixing well. When it thickens, add thick coconut milk and switch off the flame.
