🎬 Fun Fact: Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014) The movie was based on characters from the classic 1960s cartoon The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. To keep the nostalgic charm, the animators hid small nods to the original series throughout the film, including recreating Peabody’s old cartoon design in background art. Director Rob Minkoff—who also co-directed The Lion King (1994)*—said he wanted the movie to balance educational history adventures with fast-paced comedy, making it appealing to both kids and adults

Vintage animation from Disney was created through an extremely detailed, frame-by-frame process known as cel animation. Long before digital tools, every movement on screen had to be physically drawn, painted, and photographed by hand. Production began with storyboards and fully painted background artwork. Animators then drew each pose of a character onto clear celluloid sheets called cels, carefully adjusting the drawings to capture smooth motion. Each cel was hand-inked, painted on the reverse side, and layered precisely over the background art. Once assembled, the layered artwork was photographed one frame at a time using a specialized animation camera. When played back in sequence, these still images created the illusion of life and movement. Music, dialogue, and sound effects were added last, bringing the cartoon fully to life. It was a process that demanded patience, precision, and thousands of hand-crafted frames — proving that early animation wasn’t just illustrated… it was engineered. #howeverythingiscreated #animationprocess #filmmaking #disneyhistory #handdrawnanimation

The post highlights a scene from the 2001 visual novel Silence ~Seinaru Yoru no Kane no Naka de...~ by e-Erekiteru, showcasing a set of stairs that defies the laws of physics and architectural logic. ​As the quote from Maung Thuta points out, it looks like a "moment of weakness" where the artist got tangled in their own perspective lines. If you follow the steps on the right, they lead into a solid wall, while the middle flight seems to merge into a flat surface. It’s a perfect example of how even professional art can fall into an "Escher-style" trap by mistake.
