MEFat Cells (Adipocytes) & Glucose
Fat cells, also known as adipocytes, play a crucial role in regulating glucose metabolism in the body. Glucose is a type of sugar that provides energy to the body's cells, and insulin is a hormone that helps the body use glucose.
When there is excess glucose in the bloodstream, insulin signals the body's cells to absorb it for energy. However, if there is more glucose than the body needs for energy, it is stored in fat cells as fat. This process is called lipogenesis.
Conversely, when the body needs energy but there is not enough glucose available, such as during fasting or exercise, the fat cells break down stored fat into fatty acids and glycerol. The fatty acids are then converted into glucose by the liver through a process called gluconeogenesis, which can be used as a source of energy by the body's cells.
Therefore, fat cells and glucose have a dynamic relationship in the body, with fat cells both storing and releasing glucose in response to the body's energy needs and insulin levels.

When conditions turn deadly, tardigrades enter a state called cryptobiosis — they shut down almost all metabolism, curl into a “tun,” and wait… sometimes for years.

T cell is a type of white blood cell.
It is also called T lymphocyte and thymocyte.
T cells are part of the immune system and develop from stem cells in the bone marrow.
They help protect the body from infection and may help fight cancer.
There are two main types:
Cytotoxic T-cells: Destroy infected cells.
Helper T-cells: Send signals that direct other immune cells to fight infection.
Rather than generically attack any antigens, T cells circulate until they encounter their specific antigen.
T-cells have many identical T-cell receptors that cover their surfaces and can only bind to one shape of antigen.
When a T-cell receptor fits with its viral antigen on an infected cell, the Killer T-cell releases cytotoxins to kill that cell.

I’m currently working with RNA that encodes for a Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP), which is a protein that emits a green light when excited with a laser. The image of green cells is from an experiment where I transfected cells with GFP RNA. I love seeing the bright green color under the microscope and wanted to share it with you guys. But with a ~twist~ hehe
There are lots of cell-based assays out there, including fluorescent cell staining (fire), cell counting with trypan blue (ice), methylene blue staining (water), MTT cell metabolism assay (earth), and bioluminescence assays (lightning).
But my personal favorite is GREEN (GFP)
