I would have typically written this off as Elon being Elon, but that tweet has 95M views with thousands of comments. It’s clear people are super concerned with AI privacy. And then I started thinking about it… Starlink just announced they are building a cellular network to compete with Verizon and AT&T. Elon is also working on X AI. So in theory, if he built a phone, he could own the hardware, the network, and the AI operating system. I could see him going after this (in addition to cars, rockets, tunnels, brain chips, AI, social media and cell service lol)…owning the hardware layer will be incredibly important in the AI tech era. But the real question is…would you buy a Tesla/Elon phone? And better yet, would you switch from your iPhone?
