DIIm so thankful this little fighter pulled through!
Im one of those, "check for joeys" when I run across an opposum that has been ran over in the road.
Mother nature/the cycle of life can be especially hard on animals, but we've thawed a many seemingly dead animals back to life over the years.
This little cocoa puff is the outcome of breeding from a pen I threw together of a black mottled boy I traded The Bennett Farm for and some black hens I had! Little did I know, they both carry the chocolate gene!! The boy I had an inkling because a couple weeks ago Gabby said he looks just like her chocolate hen she has but I had no idea any of these blacks would carry the chocolate gene! So today, Im reading back lineage to see if I can trace where this has come from because I haven't had a chocolate bird here in 3 years! Whomever she is, she must be a split to mottled, too, so that will help me narrow down a little! Im so excited/thankful for this baby!!
Please keep her little feet in your prayers!! She should pull through just fine and only lose the 1 toe. 🙏
She doesn't have a name yet, however, because I gave her to chicken daddy since he found/saved her and he is going to name his baby!

Eines schönen Samstagmorgens sorgte dieses entzückende Schweinchen für Furore, als es neugierig in eine ehemalige Gastwirtschaft in mittelfränkischen Bieswang spazierte. Wem gehört es und wo kommt es her? Alle Recherchen und Telefonate blieben ohne Ergebnis und sogar ein Aufruf in der örtlichen Zeitung konnte keine Klärung bringen. Das war Mitte Juli, also vor 4 Wochen. Wie kann es sein, dass „Rosalie“, wie sie mittlerweile getauft wurde, von niemandem vermisst wird?
Ein großes Loch in ihrem linken Ohr, zeugt von einer Ohrmarke, die offensichtlich entfernt wurde - daher muss man davon ausgehen, dass das arme Tier von irgendwo anders hertransportiert und einfach ausgesetzt wurde. Wer macht sowas??? Wahrscheinlich hat da wiedermal irgendwer das Hirn nicht eingeschaltet, bevor er sich den Vierbeiner angeschafft hat. Einfach widerwärtig 🤮
Jetzt wohnt die Süße jedenfalls, Tierschutzverein „Freunde der Tiere Altmühltal“ und örtlichem Veterinäramt sei Dank, bei uns und wird hoffentlich von ihren Artgenossen freundlich aufgenommen🐷😍
