New research on adults aged 62–70 showed something powerful: Heavy strength training (3x per week) was associated with a “younger brain age” by ~1–2 years compared to lighter training or no training. Even more interesting… The effect was still visible 1 year later. This isn’t just about muscles. It’s about neuroprotection, cognition, and long-term brain health. On the plus side they found that doing 30 minutes or less may be the best as it relates to acutely improving aspects of brain function.
