Crocodiles will often open their mouths to help regulate their body temperature—this behavior is called gaping. Since crocs are ectothermic (cold-blooded), they rely on their environment to warm up or cool down. By opening their mouths, heat can escape, helping them cool off without having to move much. 🌞➡️😌
If you look closely, you can even see her tongue moving as she breathes! Crocs don’t breathe the same way we do—air moves in and out of their lungs while a special valve keeps water out, allowing them to breathe even with their mouths open. Their powerful anatomy lets them stay still, conserve energy, and regulate both breathing and temperature at the same time #daytona #daytonaspeedway #racing

GASaltwater croc capture! This is part one of me catching up Sheila the saltwater crocodile with @danaturedude ! The absolute POWER this animal has! When she grabbed my stick and shook it was insane, I couldn’t imagine that being a body part!
It was a wild catch, but we got it done safely for both us and the animals! Sheila is now doing great with us here at Bellowing Acres! You can watch the whole catch on my GatorChris channel, but I’ve broken it up into 3 reels I’ll be sharing here.

WIIs there a more dangerous job than being a Crocodile Dentist?
Saltwater Crocodiles don’t need to go to the dentist because they lose and replace their teeth approximately every two years. Salties have 64-68 teeth and an average lifespan of around 70-90 years, so that’s between 2300 and 3000 teeth in a lifetime!
The Tooth Fairy would go broke 😂

This croc is a bloody legend and still young buck. Probably in his 30’s so plenty of years left in him, and at 4.7m he may one day break the 5m mark! I know they can get a lot bigger, but thats still huge for a Saltie.
Stumpy might be old and not quite as long (around 4.5m) but he’s not gonna get knocked off his throne just yet. He’s a solid old croc and he means business, even at around 70-80 years old.

MA2 Nile Crocodile Brothers 1 rabbit. Do they always fight for food? The answer is NO.
Crocodilians can be observed purposely biting a lot more gentle when other crocodilians they are used to are around. You can see that in this video with the big brother walking up & the middle brother reacting with a light touch. That is not the same force he is using to gran the rabbit. Why do you think that is? Is it because they like each other? They rather not start trouble? Or what?

SOFirstly it’s a hard pass on the ole “I’ll scratch your back, you scratch mine” deal here with our A listers 🐊. That rule absolutely does not apply .
But watching a croc scratch itself like a puppy , just stop it 😩😩😩. I mean Pure betrayal, forget the cold-blooded murder log, it’s the fat little leg wiggle , cute energy radiating off a prehistoric death machine.
