MIStop wasting time dragging handles, clicking through menus, or manually fixing formatting.
These keyboard shortcuts remove almost all the unnecessary friction, freeing you up to concentrate on the real work: the actual analysis.
1. Ctrl + 1 — Format Cells instantly
Opens the full formatting dialog straight away—no mouse needed.
Number formats… borders… alignment… everything in one spot. You’ll rely on this nonstop.
2. Ctrl + D / Ctrl + R — Copy down / copy right
The quickest way to fill formulas without any dragging.
Ctrl + D = downward.
Ctrl + R = to the right.
In modeling work, this will save you serious time.
3. F12 — Save As
Forget digging through menus—F12 goes directly to “Save As.”
Analysts hit this whenever they create a new version of a file.
4. Remove Gridlines — Alt + W + V + G
Clean sheets = clearer thinking.
This sequence instantly removes gridlines, leaving your model looking professional and ready for review.
5. Split view — Alt + W + S

6. Make rows the same height — Alt + H + O + H
