Ikoniczne domy funkcjonują często nie tylko jako muzea samych siebie. To także przestrzenie kulturotwórcze, miejsca wystaw i eventów, lokacje filmowe i zdjęciowe, plenery artystyczne. Niektóre z nich, tak jak właśnie @hausschminke w Löbau umożliwiają także nocleg, aby z bliska przekonać się jak żyje się w arcydziele modernizmu lat 30. Architekt Hans Scharoun stworzył budynek wyprzedzający swoje czasy. Budynek, który mimo upływu niemal stu lat nie zestarzał się funkcjonalnie. Został zaplanowany dla rodziny fabrykanckiej z czwórką dzieci, a co najważniejsze, w sposób który pozwalał dzieciom być dziećmi. Do dziś na balustradzie widać rysy, bo większą frajdę sprawiało zjeżdżanie niż schodzenie. Dom zgodnie z zasadami modernizmu ma otwarty układ pomieszczeń, które przenikają się wzajemnie funkcjonalnie i wizualnie. Jest także otwarty na naturę, dzięki licznym oknom panoramicznym z widokiem na ogród, czy najbardziej efektownym moim zdaniem fragmentem domu - ogrodem zimowym. W projektowaniu uwzględniono także inne postulaty modernizmu dotyczące nasłonecznienia czy przewietrzenia. Postulaty, które okazały się ponadczasowe i do dziś są stosowane w architekturze wnętrz. Haus Schminke po wojnie znalazł się we wschodnich Niemczech, więc w kraju komunistycznym nie mógł już służyć za prywatną willę fabrykanta. Stał się siedzibą młodzieżówki partyjnej, co spowodowało zniszczenie znacznej części oryginalnego wyposażenia. Od 1998 fundacja opiekująca się domem przywracała go do stanu bliskiego oryginałowi - z pierwotną kolorystyką, detalami i meblami. Dziś można go wynająć, zwiedzać z przewodnikiem, zorganizować warsztaty i właśnie - przenocować. Gdyby tylko w Polsce był jakiś modernistyczny dom, który może podobnie funkcjonować... 🙈 __________ Haus Schminke (1930-33) by H. BEDROOM TRANSFORMATION • Loved creating this space to be a warm and bright haven for @chiizegrater and I 😌 Definitely leans to a more Nordic vibe compared to the living room but we still kept to our tenets of stylised wood (love the distressed finish!) and functionalism by making use of all the space without cluttering it up. The bay windows were a particular challenge but I’m quite happy with the pieces we found that fully utilised the space. In conjunction with our opening of “Sweden Lounge” earlier this year, we got the chance to speak to Christian Skovhus, VP Global Sales at @kasthall, a Swedish rug-making company that has been producing high-quality rugs since 1889. Kasthall’s rugs are featured in “Sweden Lounge,” and in our conversation, @christianskovhus tells us about the company’s history and vision. “Sweden Lounge” was produced by Svenska institutet, and a total of 17 Swedish design and furniture companies are featured in the space.
