Across New South Wales, the Blue Mountain Funnel Web Spider makes its home. This individual specifically, is often visited by Blue Mountain National Park rangers like @dcharlwoodart who have named her Gloria. It is said that she has lived in this exact burrow for an entire ten years. Burrowing in moist terrain such as under tree stumps, rocks and fallen debris, they lay out triplines outside of their den. As seen by this blade of grass, even the slightest trigger will alert the spider of activity. They have an extremely potent bite as well, able to take down animals much larger than themselves.
