KAAloha nui kākou! In honor of Mahina ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i this February, here’s a snippet of @mauianthonymusic and I playing our ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i version of My Island Maui at our Proarts show bacin October last year. I started writing it earlier a few months prior, on my way home from doing a gig in Lahaina, and the Pekelo Cosma version popped up on KPOA radio. It was my first time playing music in Lahaina since the fires, and the song was giving me a longing for home feeling 😭 as I drove through Lahaina. This version’s dedicated to my home and the Lahaina people 🙏🏽❤️ Full version is up on my youtube - link in bio🤙🏽
