IAStar Trek: TNG unveiled the "Holodeck" as a piece of technology that was a submersive program. This fictional device uses "holograms" (projected light and electromagnetic energy which create the illusion of solid objects) to create a realistic 3D simulation of a real or imaginary setting, in which participants can freely interact with the environment as well as objects and characters, and sometimes a predefined narrative. It's designed to feed the 5 senses every bit of data required to simulate what we consider reality. At the time, this was considered not only futuristic tech but an entirely new concept. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The term maya, Sanskrit for: “magic” or “illusion” is a fundamental concept in Hindu philosophy. Maya originally denoted the magic power with which a god can make human beings believe in what turns out to be an illusion. We now find ourselves wondering if we actually exist in a computer simulation and this too is not an original thought because it is the basis of "Maya" and what The Kybalion described as "everything in the universe is within the mind of The All, since the ALL can be looked at as Mind itself." And this is where we get the saying "The All is mind and the Universe is Mental." There is literally nothing new under the Sun.
