Using iMessage, you don’t actually need an airline app, a flight tracking app, or even the ability to Google your flight, or someone else’s flight.
iPhone Messages has a built-in flight status tool with real-time information about departures, arrivals, gate changes, and baggage claim numbers. All you need to do is text someone with iMessage your airline name and flight number., or simply text the word “flight” with the airline code and flight number
For example:
Airline + flight number: “Virgin Atlantic 007” or “Delta Airlines 007”
Or simply the word “Flight” + airline flight number: “Flight VS 007” or “Flight DL7”
A line should appear under the flight number confirming the link.
If you or the recipient of your iMessage click on that link, the option “Preview Flight” will appear with an image of an airliner. Click on this link and Voila! All the information you need will appear.
It’s a great way to let someone know your flight details, so they can check your arrival details and be expecting you at the correct time.
