Before React, developers had to manually update the UI whenever data changed by directly manipulating the DOM (Document Object Model). This approach was error-prone, hard to maintain, and didn’t scale well for large applications.
React introduced the concept of state-driven UI. Instead of directly touching the DOM, developers simply update the state, and React automatically updates the UI for them. This makes applications more predictable, maintainable, and efficient.
