The movie was actually shot in reverse of how the story mainly unfolds. Daniel Craig, Mila Kunis and Josh O'Connor opened the shooting, followed by almost all of the main cast a few weeks later and finally Josh Brolin joined to wrap it up.
As with the previous film, Glass Onion (2022), the subtitle "A Knives Out Mystery," does not appear in the film itself, only on the posters and marketing. Writer-director Rian Johnson has publicly said that he dislikes the subtitle, which is for marketing purposes. He wants each movie to have its own title, much like how Agatha Christie's novels lacked a subtitle to let the reader know it was the new Hercule Poirot mystery.
