MRLive Long and Pawsper 🖖 Happy Live Long and Prosper Day! LLAP Day is celebrated annually on March 26, Leonard Nimoy’s birthday. This holiday encourages you to do something good for yourself or others. It could really be anything as long as it encourages living a long life and increasing prosperity, whatever that might mean to you. Go for a walk, read a book, make a healthy meal, volunteer, save some money, or watch some Star Trek. All would be great days to LLAP!
Full disclosure: I started this holiday in 2017 as part of my Everyday Holidays project! I was encouraged by another holiday, Make Your Own Holiday Day, so I thought I’d give it a try. The initial idea was to start a holiday that would promote something positive while honoring a great person. Growing up I watched a ton of Star Trek and Leonard Nimoy seemed like the perfect fit. I was surprised to find out there was no LLAP Day (Boston declared 3/26 to be Leonard Nimoy Day in 2021). What began as a fun personal project soon became “official” after the holiday was recognized by Chase’s Calendar of Events, the authoritative reference book for world holidays, festivals and special days. I’ve loved seeing LLAP Day be embraced all over the world and now you’ll find it every March on local news broadcasts, random websites, classroom whiteboards, and random emails from your favorite Trekkie aunt.

I will miss falling asleep in your U-shape big arm chair and you falling asleep on the couch, we snored lol next thing you know it's 4am and something crazy was on and we just kept sleeping. Late-night lunch meat salad I made for us one night, gah, and how did you love it??? It was lunch meat! Our fine dining experiences in Vegas and in CA, that Gumbo that the Chef tried to make, lol, it was so bad, but we ate it anyway, lol. ThankU for insisting on giving me away in marriage, thankU for loving my husband so much that you would squeeze the air out of him! Your hugs were #forever #Life, and your "I love you more's" I will miss but I always hear ur voice saying it in my mind and I love U more than more too 4ever.You were THE BEST 2nd Mom & the BEST FRIEND a girl could ever have. The dark years, I fought for your rights and for your soul. And even though you were silenced, I know you knew I spoke for you. I tried as hard as a could&I promise you I will continue to fight for others who are isolated, silenced, hurt and harmed. Thank you for touching my dreams, and knowing intrinsically that no one who distanced us, could ever, remove our friendship from our thoughts our Souls and our Memories.
