BRHere is my Day 1 itinerary of Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾:
1) Merdeka Square: This square is very significant in Malaysian history as it was the first place where Malaysian flag was raised when it gained independence on 31 August 1957.
2) Sultan Abdul Samad Building: Located right in front of the square this building is from colonial past which housed British offices. It was renamed in 1970s after reigning sultan of Selangor. This building reflects British and Moorish architecture and its clock is supposed to relocate Big Ben.
3) River of Life: This is the convergence point of two rivers; the Klang River and the Gombank River. This is actually listed in the top 10 most beautiful waterfronts in the world.
4) Masjid Jamek: cross the bridge over River of Life and you’ll arrive at Masjid Jamek which is the oldest mosque of Kuala Lumpur. This was built in 1909 by the same architect who constructed Sultan Abdul Samad building.
5) Petaling Street Market: A covered market in Chinatown this was the commercial hub in late 19th and early 20th century. Now a popular tourist destination since 2003 this is your go to place for any clothes, bags, accessories (but they are not the genuine thing 😁) there are quite a few food options too but not all are halal
6) Central Market: Built in 1888 initially as a wet market this market is now a popular tourist destination that has mostly local artefacts, souvenirs and some really nice restaurants. You’ll find quite a few local pop up shops too so don’t forget to support those small businesses 😊

This was my day 1 itinerary and all these places were within walking distance. We had really nice street food in these areas as well as some chilled drinks such as coconut milkshake 😁
