They Don’t “Make” Your Career — You Do Agencies love to project power, but models who actively network, market themselves, and build online presence often surpass those who just “wait to be booked.” You’re your own manager now — the agency just facilitates. 📸 3. “Exclusive” Isn’t Always a Win That shiny exclusive contract? It can trap you. Many fresh faces get locked in with one agency that doesn’t push them and they can’t sign anywhere else for years. 💅 4. Polaroids > Expensive Test Shoots They might push you to do pricey “agency photographer” shoots, but in reality, simple, clean digitals are what clients want. Polaroids can land you a campaign faster than an over-edited portfolio. 🕴️ 5. Not Every Casting Call Is Legit Agencies sometimes send new models to unpaid or “exposure” shoots just to build relationships with brands or photographers — not to benefit you.
