Graellsia isabellae, commonly known as the Spanish moon moth, is one of Europe’s most iconic saturniid species. The larvae are instantly recognizable by their Christmas look, which later gives way to exceptionally majestic moths.
As the name suggests, this species is native to Spain, with additional populations in parts of southern France and the Swiss Alps. Due to its specific ecological requirements and sensitivity during development, Graellsia isabellae is considered a challenging species to rear and successfully breed.
