Our son Tommy, is the only person in the world with this particular mutation. We’ve always said there is no one in this world like Tommy, today it was confirmed after being neglected in the system for the past 3 years. The gene HEPHL1 only has two cases worldwide with mutations found. Tommy’s genetic codes are the only mutation of its kind and the most severe within any variants. Currently there is no treatment, cure or research apart from a case in Puerto Rico from 1992. All research done on Tommy will be based on Tommy for children in the future. On top of this Tommy has profound autism, PICA, hypermobility, potentially epilepsy. Me and Tommy’s dad (Mitch) want to share this far and wide so we can do whatever we can as a family to find researchers, information and families like ours. #raregenetic #raregeneticdisease #HEPHL1

While I’m in the process of creating figures, I want to keep my colors consistent throughout my paper to make my key findings stand out to future readers! It’s also fun to bring in new colors that are not on PyMol’s default list.
