MOManually change your algorithm interests in settings instead of trying to scroll through content you only like. This is faster and allows you to curate your feed a lot more. I’m so glad this is a feature as I like to make my account very community driven without the outside noise of more serious topics.

ME🔁 RESET YOUR IG ALGORITHM
• Go to your profile
• Tap Settings (three lines top right)
• Scroll to “Content preferences”
• Tap “Reset suggested content”
• Tap “Next,” then “Reset”
You can also use these instructions to snooze all suggested content for 30 days, allowing you to see only those you follow (and ads, of course—no way to turn those off)

JOI don’t know about you but I’ve changedddd over the course of my social media use, and I want the algorithm to change with me. Time for a refresh and reset of what I see on my feed. Add what I want (and follow new accounts!) and remove / unfollow what I don’t want. It’s almost a new year, time to make social media work for us 🫶🙌

OCManage your Instagram algorithm manually? I personally had no idea you could do this, and I was stoked to find it, so just bringing it to you in case it’s also useful. Go to any post, click the three dots in the bottom right corner, and then select not interested. From there, click manage your algorithm, and you can completely control what you see.

MAInstagram rolled out something BIG for 2026: you can now tell the Reels algorithm what topics you want more (and less) of.
And yes… it actually works faster than you’d think.
Here’s what’s I know:
✅ Instagram shows you the topics it thinks you’re into (based on recent scrolling)
✅ You can remove topics that don’t fit you anymore + add new ones
✅ You can also tell it what you want to see less of
Translation:
The algorithm is getting more personal… and you can finally stop being haunted by that one random rabbit hole you fell into at 1am (hence why my first clip was a dog video) 😅.
How to use this as a creator/business owner:
If Instagram is personalization-obsessed in 2026, your content has to be obvious about what it’s about.
Because when IG can’t classify you fast… it won’t distribute you far.
Pro tip: These topic tools aren’t perfect (Meta still mislabels stuff sometimes), but the direction is clear:
Signals + clarity > vibes + guessing.
SIDE NOTE: Not every account has access to this new feature yet - check yours and if you don’t see it - keep checking because they announced it will be rolled out to all soon.
