We will be telling you the story of the recovery and dismantling of the Favco MD 440 tower crane involved in the accident on July 26, 2023, as it happened. Day 2: Our 35-ton Timberland Derrick was load tested and approved to begin recovering and dismantling the Favco MD 440 tower crane. We are lowering loads onto the 8th-floor setback for the experts to investigate the cause of the accident. It is the first time in the last forty years that Master Rigger 198 Tom Auringer and the crews at U.S. Crane & Rigging have worked together with Local No. 14 and 15 Operating Engineers, The Mason and Concrete League Local No. 6, Local No. 18, and Local No. 20. The crews are working safely, productively, and on schedule.
