Ovulation phase vs Menstrual phase 🫶🏻 Well except for the fact that I have cramps, I’m retaining water, I’ve got less energy & I am now in France, we can’t actually SEE much difference 😂 I wanted to show how your body can fluctuate between each phases- which mine definitely does & I am definitely feeling “fluffier”. Even if it’s not obvious. ➡️ So I’ll jump on that instead & teach you how I’ve been telling my friends for years that I feel “fluffy” on my period & @chelsea_robyn told me to share it with you. I had never realised it wasn’t a common way to say it & it’s cute. *Fluffier: a term I like to use to describe feeling a certain way on my period, especially physically, kind of like having an “extra blanket” around certain areas of the body. It feels a lot more loving towards our bodies than saying “I feel fat”- which unfortunately can have a negative connotation or feel shaming- as it promotes acceptance that your body as a woman does not stay the same & fluctuate throughout your cycle. Our bellies- especially under our navel- are not supposed to be flat. That’s where our uterus lives & it’s normal if it’s bloated or « fluffier » when you are bleeding ! There are 4 phases total in a woman’s cycle which can be associated with the seasons to reflect our moods & symptoms: Follicular phase >> spring Ovulation phase >> summer Luteal phase >> autumn Menstruation phase >> winter Symptoms can vary depending on the person, their body & whether or not they are on hormonal contraception. This is how our bodies & moods fluctuate so it’s really worth learning more about it & getting educated in order to make informed decision about our health or adapt our lifestyle during each phase. BENEFITS⤵️ 👉🏼 can help with eating habits, e.g. cravings, so you can manage your calories and weight to help reduce this, manage your mindset/expectations and still stay consistent towards your goals 👉🏼 it can help you plan your workouts so you know if you’re potentially going to feel weaker and need to go lighter or if you’re due on and will need to possibly switch workout days around for an extended rest period (pardon the pun 😏) 👉🏼 it can help you recognise if something isn’t quite right, ie hormone or thyroid issues 👉🏼 can help you anticipate when you’re due on your period which can make life much easier for planning of certain events/outfits to feel your best 👉🏼 it can help you to recognise when PMS may be due so you can learn to manage any plans and support your mood and symptoms better I personally use @clueapp with my @ouraring and find it works really well for me but there’s many other tracking apps out there though so find one that works for you.
