My dad texted me that he got the question right, thanks to my teenage obsession decades ago. Ken Jennings seemed almost gleeful to say the band's name. The Dirtiest Title of 1995 😂🦫 “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver” — Tales from the Punchbowl (Released May 23, 1995) When Primus released “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver” in 1995, the title alone did most of the marketing. The lyrics are written from the perspective of a man obsessed with a woman named Wynona and her pet beaver. The band has consistently maintained the song is literal and intentionally absurd — a satire of double entendre culture. The joke works because it never fully confirms what you think it’s implying. The music video, directed by Mark Kohr, leaned fully into the absurdity. The band appear as plastic, ventriloquist-style dolls performing in a toy-world western setting. The exaggerated facial features and artificial movement matched the song’s off-kilter rhythm and Les Claypool’s elastic bass lines. The video was nominated for Best Hard Rock Video at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards and pushed the single into heavy MTV rotation. Musically, the track is built around Claypool’s percussive bass technique, shifting time feels, and Larry LaLonde’s sharp, angular guitar accents.
