This project took me over a year because I started it, lost motivation and got distracted. But then my wife mentioned how cool it would be to have a fun and finished space by our hot tub, so I took a few days and finished the project with a romantic date night. I built the projector screen to be portable so we can move it in the future as well. Up next I think is going to be adding railing, a couple trees, and a possible gazebo over the top! DIY home movie nights, but keep it hidden ✨ I did not want a TV living in this space, but I loved the idea of turning it into a movie spot every now and then. So we tucked a projector screen into a recessed ceiling niche, used a projector we already owned, and found a super cheap electric ceiling mount box online. Then I handed it all to my son, electrician legend, and said can you make this work. And he did. Ta dah. Have we used it heaps? No. Maybe twice. 😝 But that is the beauty of it. It stays hidden, the room stays calm, and when it comes out the vibes are so good 🤍
