🤫MAHA proliferated in the most privileged of wellness circles that created fear-mongering based off pseudoscience and focusing on the bare crumbs of wellness (guised as improving ones health), while voting for and supporting people who take away the loaves and the ovens to bake them in. I have been in the wellness industry since the modern iteration of it was incepted, and have been horrified to see it evolve towards an alt-right pipeline. Fundamentally, I understand the concerns over our health, but the actions and agenda of this movement... woefully misguided. I'm also someone with chronic health conditions, believes in a holistic (aka all-encompassing) approach to health and well-being, and wants better for us all. That does not get achieved by bulldozing our systemic infrastructure.

Okay, I admit this one seems like pseudoscience. I almost didn’t believe it myself. But after meeting with the lead author, Dr. Gou-Young Koh, and watching his videos of cerebrospinal fluid visibly flowing through facial lymphatic vessels, I was fascinated. In a recent Nature study from the Institute for Basic Science in Korea, his team uncovered a new connection between the facial lymphatic system and the brain’s waste-clearance pathway. Gentle stimulation along the cheeks and near the nose enhanced cerebrospinal fluid flow, the process that helps the brain clear proteins like amyloid and tau. It’s early work, but it’s a reminder of how interconnected our body really is. This is true #BeautyAndBrains stuff. I am excited to see where this research goes. #preventiveneurology #brainhealth
